Are you looking for a great book to read?  Check out some of these recommendations:

Golden Archer Nominees:  Not only are these great books, but this list of  books are State of Wisconsin nominated books.  If you are a 4th or 5th Grader thinking of joining Battle of the Books then you will want to start with this list.  Many of these books will be on the Battle of the Books List.  All underlined titles are accessible on SORA. 

Suggestions by Grade Level: 


  • ABC books:  Help your child learn to identify letters in different fonts, sizes and places.

  • Name other items that begin with the same letter.  Aa apple, alligator, and, antler, Aaron, Aunt


  • Poetry small rhymes

  • Check out poetry books to read together, no need for pointing in these books, read like when you think of Old Mother Hubbard or Row, Row, Row your Boat.

  •  Dr Seuss books are easy to read to your child and for them to read parts with you.
